They probably don't have as many chips needed to be fixed... Mostly
they exploit old Soviet systems, which do not have the bug.
Besides, if something crucial does not work, you can always roll
back the date. Who knows what will happen in Russia politically by
2000, so why care about the stupid bug? I don't understand all the fuss about it. It seems, people will soon start suspecting their
office furniture in having a y2k bug. One danger I see, though,
the fear of the bug. People start taking their money out of
the banks, and this will crash the markets, because these banks have
highly leveraged positions.
Anyway, I'm thinking of picking up something cheap in the oil sector, like TNT. But looking at the oil price recently - probably it's better
to wait (or short something)
