Volex Plc buys Brazilian cable assembler

LONDON, Dec 2 (Reuters) - British connector and cable
assemblies company Volex Group Plc said on Wednesday it had
bought 60 percent of the Brazilian cable assembly business of
Telepart Industria e Commercio Ltda (Telepart).
The acquisition was for a maximum of around 8.25 million
pounds in cash, which includes deferred consideration over the
next three years subject to the attainment of minimum profit
levels, Volex said in a statement.
The company said it also has an option to purchase the
remaining 40 percent of the Sao Paulo-based cable maker within
the next three years.
Volex said the acquisition, made through its Brazilian
subsidiary, Volex do Brasil Ltda, would help expand its presence
in the rapidly growing South American telecommunications market.
"This acquisition is key to our global strategy to support
our major multinational customers such as Ericsson LMEb.ST,
Lucent LU.N, Nortel NTL.TO and Qualcomm QCOM.O and will
provide the Group with a strong manufacturing base in the
emerging South American market," said Volex Chief Executive Dom
Molloy.

yes why? As ERICY and NOK.A ride the crest and higher the Q winds its weary way inexorably back to its natural home in the $40's.

Sadly even MOT with all its problems is now a $60 stock - unbelievable and yet the Q with all its technology and patents and royalties and growth and potential growth just sinks day after daywith the market and the NAZ at near record levels.

I still feel that the engine is just getting reved up and that the next Q numbers are going to be great but I must confess that form investment point of view it is a little frustrating form time to time.
