WAVO -- spoke with investor reporting person -- they do plan to respond to the CNBC situation -- whether they will be on the show again has not been determined, but a response will be forthcoming (possibly a press release?). The investor relations person would not commit to how they would respond. This is an unfortunate situation and, based on this upbeat conversation, I have doubled my position in WAVO.

IGST to Incorporate Wave Systems' EMBASSY Technology in Multimedia Chips for Set-Top Boxes

Alliance Delivers Trusted-Client Technology into End-User Devices
Enabling Secure E-commerce Transactions

Anaheim, CA, Dec. 2, 1998 -- Delivering on its strategy to proliferate trusted-client technology in a wide variety of end-user devices, Wave Systems (OTC BB: WAVX; wave.com) today announced a technology license agreement with the multimedia supplier IGS Technologies Inc. at the Western Show in Anaheim, CA. Under terms of this agreement, IGS will incorporate Wave Systems' EMBASSY™ (EMBedded Application Security SYstem) technology into a variety of IGS' integrated circuit (IC) products for emerging technologies, including versions of its next generation set-top box multimedia companion chips. The agreement will enable IGS to embed robust digital content metering and secure transaction and application processing capabilities in a variety of end user devices, including set-top boxes and information appliances.

Wave Systems and IGS are already working together to jointly market their solution. IGS plans to work with a number of OEM customers and strategic business partners including major internet, cable and satellite set-top box manufacturers worldwide and current IGST OEMs to integrate this technology into their platforms.

The EMBASSY E-Commerce System is an open, programmable, standards-based platform for running secure application and protecting important data and digital identities on individual PCs and other end user devices. The EMBASSY E-Commerce System is the first implementation of the trusted client technology recently announced by Wave, and will allow third party software vendors to develop secure PC-based, e-commerce applications that run in a trusted environment.

"By taking advantage of EMBASSY's secure processing and metering technology, IGST will be able to offer our customers key, leading-edge functionality and add real commercial value to their products," said Mike Raghavan, senior director of marketing for IGST. "Trusted-client capabilities like digital content metering and embedded security will push set-top boxes and information appliances to the center of end-users e-commerce transactions."

IGST provides the most integrated multimedia solution for set-top boxes and information appliances with its 7-in-1 CyberPro5000 and 5300 family. The seven major functions include: TV Encoder, Video Processor, Hardware Alpha Blending, 3D/2D Graphics, FlexiBus, Audio Processor and Softmodem.

"EMBASSY provides inexpensive, powerful and manageable security combined with digital metering capabilities that will be built into next generation set-top boxes," said Steven Sprague, Wave Systems President. "We are pleased with IGS' commitment to embedding the EMBASSY into its IC products which will allow for the broad distribution of Wave's technology."

EMBASSY (EMBedded Application Security SYstem) E-Commerce System Benefits:

OEMs and the "client-side" computing equipment manufacturers will gain product differentiation as well as benefit from shared revenue from the sale of digital content through their hardware.

The software community can benefit from a new distribution platform, flexible pricing models and security inherent in trusted-client technology
