Since you ask for an opinion:

I believe the equity to be without any value whatsoever. If you want more than my opinion take the market's: the convertible bonds are bid at 1% of face and they are two levels higher in the cap structure. Whatever tax loss you have is worth more to you this year than any possible recovery, or a tax loss next year.
