Len, >>>I picked up a few shares of
Boeing. I wanted to diversify my holdings by buying non-tech stocks--and look
what happened! I think I'll stick to tech stocks, especially the quality ones, like
Intel.<<<

That's it, flight to quality! Two friends of mine are also lamenting Boeing today. Boeing's using the Asian contagion as reason. Two hot companies, Intel and Sun, have both had articles out the last two days saying Asia was good. I guess folks over there will buy a PC for their kids' overall betterment, and forego an airplane trip for it. In the case of Sun, they'll buy Unix servers for their Internet explosion, travel on the net instead of in the air.

Regards,

Tony

Len - Re: "I thought I was doing that a few weeks ago when I picked up a few shares of Boeing ..."

One could make the argument that today (or tomorrow) Boeing is a good value - compared to what you bought it for.

However, that is just a matter of (unfortunate) timing.

If the world economy recovers and jet orders pick up in 6 months, Boeing may look like a real "nugget" in today's terms.

It's always hard to judge the future based on today's market action.
