larry: You do make some interesting arguments which could very well be true, nothing like putting a little fear and uncertainty in the mind of workers before the upcoming labor contract negotiations, perhaps a well conceived plan? Like you said this 'blame it on Asia' thing might just be a ploy and scare tactic, nothing like hiding behind something for which nobody could fault the management.

Anyway I have noticed in the past that when a company with substance announces some real bad news the stock sinks like a rock on the day of the announcement only to recover nicely the next day or in a few days or weeks. Cases in point:-

TEXACO,XEROX,KODAK,EXXON,IBM etc etc....

Hope the same thing happens to BA's stock.Just my opinion.

Until CEO is booted BA is headed for a long slow slide down. Problems are with management and not Asia. They have lied and covered up their problems several times now and there is NO credibility with this company anymore by investors. Laying off workers is management taking the easy road and not dealing with core issue of incompetence at the top. Look for investors to dump before the new year for tax reasons. Much better investments than BA right now.
