fortinwit, assuming people aren't price conscious. some customers will say, "hey, if you can't meet my price then i go elsewhere or buy nothing at all." didn't hp just drop their pc prices 12%? oh, they are nice guys and want to do some public service, huh? ;-)

amd and cyrix may use this, and should use this, as an opportunity to pick up market share. i will believe there is a shortage when one vent happens.

when intel RAISES the prices of their chips then wake me up. i'll even except it if they stop lowering prices.
