Ish, many of the partial birth abortion crowd are against capitol punishment. There is no logic to this at all.

So write your representatives, Ish. Push it as a central issue for the Republican party. It's a battle many don't want to reopen, but there are others who think it should be the core of the Republican moral reformation. William Kristol for one. You're welcome to state your views. If enough people agree, you can get the laws changed to reflect your personal morality. The majority on the Supreme Court is thin, I'm sure a properly attuned Republican President would turn it around soon enough. Another appointment or two like "best man for the job" Clarence Thomas would get it done. Clarence Thomas, of course, hadn't given a thought to the issue before he was appointed, but he's been voting the right way, I understand. If the issue is important, it should be honestly discussed. If a Republican candidate wants to change the law to suit your views and that of the right-to-lifers, he should say so up front. Do you have a problem with that?
