Cyclically, recessions tend to occur around the turn of the decade.

Not according to the documentary "1900" about the last turn of the century, that was a boom time. I know, I know that was so long ago but I believe in some ways economically the 1990s are more similar to the 1890s than the 1970s, dont you? The birth of new industries and all of that.
