FYI wine people this is interesting, especially for me because Im always on a diet.

People looking to lose weight may be surprised to learn that a drink or two each day may not do their diet any harm. In a recent study at Colorado State University, researchers found no difference in weight, body fat, and food intake of the 14 young male volunteers when they drank two glasses of wine every night for six weeks and when they abstained for six weeks.

For unknown reasons, alcohol calories don't seem to count. Some research suggests that alcohol induces the body to burn more calories. Other research suggests that alcohol consumption lowers insulin, which may inhibit fat storage. Either way, enjoy that glass of wine to compliment your evening meal.
