The crack that wasn't:
its a pretty amazing thing going on in the market. stocks that have zoomed the past month or so have stalled. they should dive, being so terrible inflated. I'm talking about yhoo, aol, inkt, amzn, onsl, ebay, etc. but you know, these stocks don't want to crack. they have paused, yes they are ridiculously overvalued. but you know what, i think they are going to get even more ridiculously overvalued.
DELL made nice move today, so did CPQ. MUEI backed off, but i can't find a reason. SFA made a 10% jump, on news that they will be providing tv cable boxes for msft's web tv. SFA hit resistnace at 22, backed off, think it will charge to 25-26 real quick. CD, CD is the super energizer bunny. not to late to get on, IMO. Larry

Tom, there were reports on CNBC a couple of days ago (rumors) that the Fed Reserve might increase margin requirements for selected internet stocks. That was only rumors.

But over the last couple of days, I've seen reports that some of the brokerages have increased margin requirements for some of the internet stocks. The brokers include DLJdirect, Salomon Smith Barney, Waterhouse, Ameritrade. Check today's Wall Street Journal (Wednesday, Dec 2).

That might explain, at least in part, why the internets could cool off.

Regards,

Larry
