If you remember, there was a lot of discussion on all MRVC threads about share buy-backs at that time. Several on the Yahoo! thread sent off E-Mails to Noam, pushing for this.

At 10K shares, Management is obviously reluctant, and this seems to support my speculation that they only did the announcement to pacify everyone. But as I said, I think other priorities now take precedence in their minds.

Who knows, perhaps there was some discussion already that scared management. Remember the cancellation of the original September 23rd meeting (I think that was the date) at the last minute (or so it seemed), with a full month delay? The increase to 80 million shares may have been added at that time, too. That always struck me as odd, because the current stock price neither supports using it for acquisition (unless for another company also selling at fire sale prices), nor a stock split - so why do that now?
