<<I think "satellite compatible" means I can plug this phone into one of the car units, and use the satellites?>>

Maurice: Tell Tarken that you have to plug the phone into a satellite to use this feature. The phone cost is reasonable but you get gouged on the 20,000 mile cord to the GEO. Gotta' watch those details! ; )

Or perhaps this is the new Tiajuana plant in which Sony broke off on their own last year and is doing their own mfg test software......I think alot more facts are needed before you all jump off a cliff.

the power control is a calibration table done as the last step in the manufacturing process (RFCAL). It is specific for EACH phone model. I would not expect that any other phone has this problem. Each new model, which includes a plastics change has to go through a recalibration process. It is outlined on the CDG web page.... Very formal testing.
