Jim Lamb:Anybody else out there disappointed about the street's response to this new drug being approved. Minimal if any pop in the price of PFE. The share price is at the April level >>>>>>>>>

The market are taking a "sell on the news" attitude lately. This FDA approval was a long anticipated rubber stamp. There is the minor downside of no acute pain indication and no overwhelming safety statement vs NSAIDS.
Look at the chart of IMMUNEX (IMNX) after Enbrel got full FDA approval - it went thru immediate sell off BUT is is SOARING 2-3 wks later!
Stay tuned for PFE to do the same IF Searle/PFE is ready to roll Celebrex out the doors to the pharmacies once full FDA approval arrives.

Jim <<7 months of a stagnant share price is a little hard to digest>>

Bottom line , PFE is still up 50% YTD and continues to be influenced by the general market direction..... As a long-term investor, PFE and the market provided great opportunities in October to add to PFE portfolios at discount prices.

In 1999 (only one month away), with the Lipitor, Viagra and Celebrex engines in place, a possible January split announcement, and, hopefully, a Dow over 10,0000, PFE will be in a strong position for continued gains.

Overall, it is very difficult for any PFE investor to be disappointed with the following 5 year PFE record:

................PFE Price..Growth Rate....Comments
12/30/94......... 19.32.......12.0%
12/29/95..........31.50.......63.1% ......2-1 split (6/95)
12/30/96..........41.50.......31.7%
12/31/97..........74.56.......79.7% ......2-1 split (6/30/97)
11/30/98......... 111.94......50.1%.......Viagra approved (3/27/98)

Have PFun!
