I agree. Lately, it seems that the overnite futures are less and less of an indicator of the day's activities, except in the extreme. If the futures are up or down 10 or more at midnite, it probably will be a predictor of the coming trading day or at least the first half of the day. However, when they are up 5 or down 5 at midnite it does not seem to correlate with how the market is going to do.

Has anybody done something more scientific on this?
