I think that one of the big clues that a market or even an individual stock is overextended is when it begins to garner front page attention on your local newspaper. This works on the downside as well.

I first learned this lesson the hard way buying Micron stock from advice read in the Boise newspaper. I posted Sunday night that I felt the internet stocks might be ready to collapse.

Why? Everyone wants them and they were(are) media darlings.

The market is fine right here because the Fed is still easing and it's not front page news even though we have many new highs.
