NEWS from Asia:
1. Fujitsu, Toshiba to jointly develop memory chips
TOKYO, Dec 3 (Reuters) - Fujitsu Ltd said on Thursday it would announce at 3 p.m. (0600GMT) joint development with Toshiba Corp of memory chips. Toshiba and Fujitsu will jointly develop one-gigabit dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chips, a Toshiba spokesman said.

2. Tokyo Nikkei falls two percent in afternoon
TOKYO, Dec 3 (Reuters) - The Tokyo Nikkei stock average fell by more than two percent in early afternoon trade on Thursday as selling gathered force due to falls in overseas markets overnight and concern over the political scene at home, traders said.

3. HK stocks sharply lower in thin morning trade
HONG KONG, Dec 3 (Reuters) - Hong Kong stocks continued their correction and were steeply lower in early Thursday trade, partly pushed by losses in index futures which helped drive the Hang Seng Index down 210 points, or 2.10 percent, to 9,845 points.

I guess we take the good with the bad. . . . 1 gig DRAM? Whew.
