You have a point, but if it was a good brand name, it is probably still a good deal? Also, his price included taxes, etc... It still might be a similar price to what he could have gotten by taking the time to dig through monthly publications like the computer paper... and then go to the store that is offering it at that price, etc...

I was just at the Bid.com site and I saw a 36X CD drive being auctioned and the price was about $40 or something like that? (on the Canadian side) I believe that is a good deal!?

The whole point of the auction is it will only go for a price that somebody is willing to pay. If somebody does pay a price for a product that is comparable to what they could have gotten in a store - perhaps they just find the convenience of shopping from home to be worth paying the price to Bid.com instead of another place? Also, the revenues go to BII.. *grin*... with a decent margin! Gotta love it!

Chad

I was more impressed with the fast delivery and the fact that the ordering process only involved a few clicks of the mouse. I didn't have to deal with a salesperson either. It's pretty cool purchasing computer equipment while wearing just your underwear. Try that in a retail store. ;-)
