XCR,

I also hate my local cable company.

My biggest gripe about cable, and internet access also, is that you pay a set price per month, whether the service is active and available or not.

Not so with your electric service. You pay for what you use.

Also water. I pay a minimum, and if I use more than the minimum, I pay more. But I don't pay for anything I don't use.

If my cable goes out, I have to call and tell them it is out, and then call and let them know when it is back on, and I might receive a few pennies credit for lost service.

Now, my phone service is almost infallible. The only reason I say "almost", is because an ice storm could take lines down. But as far as equipment, it is infallible.

If the cable companies expect to get in the telephone business, or the ISP business, they will need to get to be a lot more reliable. As it is presently, it sucks.

Have fun,
Phil

Cable premium channel rates went down in my area. 7 movie channels for an extra 25 bucks. Cablevision. Digital boxes are moving quick.
