"Next time, I promise myself, my wife, my investors and you, I will call that bottom. And I could be wrong again. Let's never forget that."

freeze frame. cut to JC's Used Auto Sales on the other side of town. a couple approaches one of the cars on the lot. a salesman (jimmy) circles. the couple asks the salesman, "what can you tell us about this car?" jimmy adopts that knitted-brow, self-important expression. "i promise you both that this is the best car on the lot", jimmy begins. "and that this is the time to buy this car. i even promise myself that. i promise my wife, the guy that delivers my paper, and i promise that guy over there who i've never met before in my life. i basically promise." (knitted brow suddenly disappearing, replaced by broad smile.) "of course, i could be wrong. let's never forget that. i promise that too. i could be wrong that this is the best car on the lot and this is the time to buy it. i promise all these things. to everyone".
