Did you include savings accounts (I know it's dumb) but lots of older people still have them.

I agree. One of the most common things I tell people when they ask me basic questions is to get the hell out of the bank which is paying you 1% to 2%. Right there you can go from 2.5% or so to 4.7%.

The standard reply is.....you mean I can have a money market account with only a few thousand.
