Bosco- Yes, snail mail to Eun Joo's mom would be less expensive, but I gather it takes up to six weeks for a personal check from the US to clear a Korean bank. Oddly, according to my neighbor who was CFO of a $900 million Korean company, Korean banks treat cashier's checks the same way they do personal checks. But, according to info I received this AM, a money order from the US Post Office is as good as cash to a Korean bank. Go figure. So, in the interests of making a seasonable contribution, I will plan on the post office route, and hope the information I received was correct. As to your concern that it might be better to set up a restricted account, I whole-heartedly concur. That is one reason I have not been soliciting on SI- I don't have such a vehicle in place. You may recall my inquiring in a previous post about non-profits that might be willing to act as a financial clearinghouse. Such references would certainly be helpful to me now. The individual who pledged a contribution is simply trusting me to do the right thing with his money. I am not particularly encouraging others to follow suit. While I hope (and believe) I am beyond temptation in these circumstances, proper financial oversight is critical to effective giving, and as of yet I have no oversight in place. I for one would be very leery of some guy on the Internet trumpeting his newest cause and asking me to send $$ his way! At this point I am primarily asking people on this thread for ideas as to how to effectively proceed, and some of the communication I have had has been helpful in that regard. Here's hoping your dogs don't go to the, well you get the idea... Regards, Larry
