No it isn't HUGE. Its $175,000 revenue for hardware and software.
Its already installed - read about it in the quarterly report from Aug '98. If ECHO were to handle the credit card transactions from the
EMOD, that would be much more promising. But that would probably be handled more directly through a larger credit center.

Great links John,

Thanks!

It is I think exactly what you are saying. If we are going to integrate this system into our IRT (Integrated Retail Terminal)
then it stands to reason that we must be considering integrating
our entire banking system to an online electronic system. In past
years the Post Office allowed each branch to make its own deposits
at local banks. In the past year they have been trying to cut down
on paperwork and consolidate into fewer banks. With the advent of this kind of technology however it would make far more sense to
use electronic banking to centralize all the branches. The savings to
the USPS would be huge in that our deposits would be credited instantly and draw immediate interest wheras we may lose 1-2 days
as we currently operate. It seems that a national rollout of this
system would pay for itself in this case.
All IMHO of course!
