According to the EMH, information flows virtually instantaneously to all market participants, so that no profit can be made by trading on news.

However, it doesn't say anything about remembering previous news.

Intel is up today because Dow Jones reported the speech of an IR representative saying that Q4 revenues would be up 8% to 10% sequentially.

If this sounds familiar, it is. The same thing was contained in an Intel press release on November 10. This was, I believe, the primary cause of the semiconductor rise in the last few weeks.

This is the real reason you can't make money trading on news, i.e. news is no more reliable than rumor. -g-
