The decision to pull out of VietNam had already become a dominant venue in the legislature. There was rioting in the streets regarding what was considered an over extension of US authority in Cambodia. Here we are again with authority figures over extending the authority we granted them with our votes, and the masses enabling them through fear and ignorance. Bang..chang..clangalang. I was shoulder to shoulder with veterans and soldiers who were still in, as we faced this awful castration. We either resolved it individually or committed suicide. By the mid 1980's the figures on suicide related to the Viet Nam experience were larger than people who actually died in action in Viet Nam. You and dipy can hide from the question if you want to. What are you hiding from. You know why they are asking it. <<Do you think the unit crowd is the type to be particularly sympathetic to your global concerns?>> I'm not looking for sympathy. I seek truth and justice. It is a personal matter involving struggle at all times and in all circumstances; crowds don't generally know what to do with it. As an eighteen year old facing the draft it was a very confusing time for me, indeed. I did plenty of units myself at the time. It didn't help and I no longer imbibe. My God is the God who is the creator and sustainer of the Universe. That includes this glob such as it is, wherein I express my global concerns. This nation professes to be "One Nation Under God;" Where freedom of religion is assured. <<Would you be comfortable living in a "Christian Nation"?>> As a citizen of the Universe and this country the "Chrisian Nation" rant is cute. It is an issue of patriotism, used by you and the Christian Right Wing, to establish unrealistic fear or blind loyalty to political machinations.
