GM: "NEC Cuts Jobs In Restructuring Move (12/03/98, 12:05 p.m. ET)"

Do I get to say I told you so? These layoffs were not planned very far in advance either. And you don't need to search the archives to find the last time NEC had layoffs, this is a first. They cut pretty hard in Roseville, by the way; more unemployed friends. The fact that they are planning to continue construction on the new fab is insignificant right now, it's a field of weeds still, and any cancellations won't be reported until the last minute; they've been planning the new fab since 1994, when I last did work for them. NEC are losing $$$ hand-over-fist in DRAM these days...

PS: bought some AMAT puts this morning... BK (not Brian) funds.
