Your buy is correct, 7 3/16 would be a better short trigger, as there was very little volume under 7 5/16 this morning.

Your understanding of full vs. modified is correct.

Your upper trigger is the buy, lower the sell, no guess work required at first. Once you are profitable doing this for awhile, you can look for reversals at these points, i.e., if the stock NAVR hit 7 3/16 and started back up, it could be a buy.

When you're starting, use full gaps, they're easier.
