Generation Entertainment Corp. to Acquire Slipdisk-2K
Business Wire - December 03, 1998 15:26
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 3, 1998--

Deal includes 30-year veteran of the music industry, Grammy award winning producer and Polygram Distribution.

Generation Entertainment Corp. (OTC BB:GNEN-news) has signed a Letter of Intent with David Chackler, to acquire their newly formed label Slipdisk-2K. Slipdisk-2K is headquartered in Chicago and distributed through Polygram Distribution via Mercury Records.

The new company is an offshoot of the legendary Slipdisc Records. April through September 1998 produced over one million in revenues which should more than double over the next six months.

Slipdisk-2K's marketing strategy will achieve even greater success through the use of mainstream crossover radio. The new label will strive to introduce Aggressive Rock music that will meet audience desires as we enter into the new millennium.

Special focus will be put into film soundtracks and Internet and P.C. based soundtracks from popular games. These games attract the same demographic as Aggressive Rock music (Males, 12 to 20 and is a natural market place for this music). Slipdisk-2K will cross promote with the game companies including on-line distributors such as AOL, including web-site links.

Several projects are already in the creative stages. Senior partner, David Chackler is a 30-year veteran of the music industry.

He has been successful with several well-known acts including Queen, Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac, and 2 Live Crew, to name a few. He has also held executive positions with several major record companies such as Mercury Records, Polydor Records, Chess Records and White Wale Records.

He has also been responsible for the soundtracks of over forty feature films and was nominated for "Best Film Music" for New Line Cinema's "Hanging with the Homeboys."

Frank Chackler, sr. vice president and general manager of Slipdisk-2K was formerly an A&R manager for Arista Records and was on the management team for rock giants, Motley Crue, for four years. He now holds the title of sr. vice president and general manager of Slipdisk-2K. 6 Grammy award winning producer, Neil Kernon (David Bowie Queensryche, Hall & Oatsa) has been added to the team as vice president of A&R. Warren Guth, president of Generation Entertainment Corp. stated, "We are excited about the purchase of Skipdisk-2K by Generation Entertainment. We believe this acquisition will have a significant impact on our future financial growth and earnings."
