I didn't mean discredited as powerfully as maybe you took it.

Granville had his great years and then lost like 80% of the portfolio for several consecutive years, didn't he? I think the same was true of Dines. He, I believe, called for hoarding everything from gold to canned soup, etc. saying the economic world was going to come to an end.

Perhaps "embarassed" might have been a better choice than "discredited". I think his followers sufferred pretty badly with his choices in earlier days.
