Your claim that K6 core is better than P6 assumes that architectural "superiority" should be measured independent of the L2 cache or the maximum clock speeds.

According to Yousef, Intel's process technology is much better than AMD's. The fact that K6-2 is as close to PII clock speeds as it is, is an indication of the architectural superiority of K6.

That's like saying that my Ford Taurus would accelerate just as fast as a Chevy Corvette, if we put a Taurus engine inside the Corvette just to take away any unfair advantages.

The analogy sounds backwards. K6 has the better engine. PII has the better externals (for a few more weeks.)
