Anyone notice that 100 of the IDX Dec 12-1/2's traded today? The AMEX just opened up the 12-1/2 strike price yesterday. Interesting, since I always thought that new strike prices weren't added unless the underlying stock either traded or closed well above (or below) the current high (or low) strike for a couple of days. IDX has barely broken 10 - and for only a very short time. It's also unusual for a new strike to be added so soon to the current month in a situation such as this. Anyone care to comment?

p.s. Anyone notice the announcements from ORCL out of the banking trade show? (Notice how CKFR moved yesterday) An announcement was made after the close today concerning working with EDS to provide internet bill presentation and payment solutions. -Isn't it about time to hear about IDX from ORCL? -Brad - does this have anything to do with what you were referring to several posts ago? (sorry, I can't help speculating)

To all,

Sorry about this but my memory is fading fast. Weren't we in contention with an African program that was in an contract award dispute?

<<excerpt>>The office of the Public Protector on Thursday said the tender process for the Home Affairs National Identification System (Hanis) - estimated to cost more than R800 million - was above board and recommended the process be finalised.

The investigation, conducted by the Public Protector's office and the office of the Director-General of Home Affairs, found that the Department of Home Affairs took proper and adequate steps to ensure a proper and effective evaluation of the tender.
