Sorry, but you are missing something here. CCUR is not in this game just because they are delivering the cheapest cost per stream. They are in this because they have a low cost and high performance. Show me a demo or system ready to go commercial and I will show you a CCUR server. If you really think that SUN or any of the competitors could top the experience that CCUR has in real time OS, hardware configuration and sytems/software integration, then I think you don't know enough yet about the differences in technology between the players.

Will SUN spend over 100 million to create a platform for a niche market (sorry to say, but 2 or 3 billion is small compared to the rest of the server market)? The answer is NO. Would they buy CCUR just to get into VOD? Maybe. Would they buy CCUR to get the VOD platform, use R and D money to improve or innovate the OS and software (can you say Java), migrate the Powermax OS to other platforms (can you say Pentium) and become a more aggressive competitor in the embedded systems market (hello Windriver) while at the same time upping their clout in the digital cable game (Java vs. Windows CE)? Now that I could really see.

Is it naive to think CCUR will never have a competitor that is better than CCUR? Yes. Is it naive to think that CCUR will get 20% market share in the future of what looks to be a duopoly at the moment? No. What is naive is to think that with their lead and technology that they won't have at least 20% of the market. Corky has made all the right moves and who woulda thunk it. Now only if he can come down to earth and tell this story to large investors. The only time we had a sustained rally of any duration in this stock was when it broke 3 and then $4. That was because White Rock was buying. For the past 6 months this stock has been traded among the same group. There are no new investors of any size in the stock. Until they show up, we will continue to have this buy into announcements and sell when they occur mentality.

When these new investors will show up, I don't know. When they do it will be party time. The traders will no longer control the stock and its price. They will perform their useful duty though, which is to create the liquidity that will attract larger investors. My gut also tells me the best is yet to come for CCUR. Remember the real big news for CCUR was announced a few weeks after the Atlanta cable show. Good luck.
