Ascend CEO Sees Great Opportunity In Shift To Data Networks Dow Jones Newswires December 3, 1998 NEW YORK -- The move to data networks is providing a "great" opportunity for network products maker Ascend Communications Inc. (ASND), according to Chief Executive Mory Ejabat. "We have the products and technology that can provide the transition from voice to data networks," Ejabat told CNBC Thursday. CNBC interviewed Ejabat at Credit Suisse First Boston Corp.'s technology conference. Many technology companies attending the conference are "bullish" about growth opportunities, Ejabat said. The shift to data networks is creating a great deal of demand for the industry, he said. Ejabat declined comment about the possibility of a deal between Ascend and another company.
