The crucial difference is float. Most of the internut traders, drunk with profits (well the ones that managed a profit) tried that with Intel, Microsoft and Wcom on Dec 1st. Perhaps by yesterday they realized that they are too big to make the kid of moves they made in the i-nuts. So, they switched the group to semis (a clown put a strong buy on Micron and perhaps that was the clue for them yesterday.) As Arik says, it will end in tears.
