we have three lower peaks, with three higher highs (at least on the oex)

Now here is one more I have been playing with since mid sept to see
if it had any potential as a leading indicator. The scan is run
against a list of 3485 common stocks that have an avg 100,000 shares
trading per day for the last 30 days. (AMEX, NASD, & NYSE)

It looks for a crossing of a 5 day EMA Crossing either above
or below an 8 day SMA. A cross above gives a buy (of course) and
below a sell. Not sure that it can call a turn yet but it sure seems
to confirm a trend and told me to be careful beginning on 11/30/98
when the %age flattened. Still too early yet to put a lot of faith
in it but I found it interesting. The Cum% is the number that is
smoothed enough to have any meaning. The others are here just for
grins.
