David, I think that during the coming month the Korean are going to throw whatever they have on the market and then some, this just for internal political motives as to who will be the groom and who the maiden in their forced shotgun wedding. Just my opinion. That is also why I thought that MU would drop to the 30' before it attempt a move to 50, but as today proved, I was absolutely wrong (again). Early next year, when seasonal strength is removed, I do expect the Korean to pay more attention to profitability, and maybe they will reign in some of their supply again.

dg, production costs don't include overhead so tack on a lot of cash to get net costs. will you be surprised if mu reports a loss, including everything, this q? i won't. not sure about the rate of cost reduction, though, as this is a different game than 16 mb.

Fullu loaded costs are a little under $8.00 but if the yields hold they should be making some money. BUT SAMSUNG IS FOR SURE. They are yielding about 92% at test on a possible 1200 die per wafer.
