Here's a funny BID ticker symbol thought...

heard about TMCO (Temco OTC:BB) doubling today when investors (I use that term lightly) bought it because they thought it was the TMCS IPO?

Previous trading range was $20-29, ave volume ~1,000, then this a.m. it opened at 32, and jumped to $65, before some savvy shorts caught on and ran it back down to $24. Reuters issued an announcement from TMCO this evening saying the company didn't know their stock symbol had been changed to TMCO from TMCS (Yahoo didn't know either).

Perhaps BID (Sothebys Online) or IBUY (Shopping.com) will have the same fortune when IBID IPO goes off tomorrow morning. BID closed at ~$27, and IBUY at ~$9 1/2. Never underestimate the stupidity of an emotional investor;)
