I've been lurking for a while and decided I needed to start contributing. It's tough to come up with new news. You all are to fast. Here is something I don't recall seeing here from UPSIDE magazine where Geoff Tate was selected to the "Elite 100"

Tate solidified his place in the semiconductor industry this year when it became official that PC makers Compaq Computer Corp. and Dell Computer Corp. would use his company's memory technology in their computers in 1999. In effect, Rambus takes over a key interface standard for memory chips. Those deals also marked Rambus' transition from a small semiconductor intellectual property provider into one of the most influential chip-related companies in the business.--J.E

I've been in and out of Rambus since the 80's (the first time it visited "nose bleed" levels). I'm long now but nervous.
