All must agree that the IMF is the worst thing to happen to the economics of the "third world" ever. Their system will come apart. I am glad the Republicans were smart enough to see that is is going to Hell regardless of the IMF actions. The reason to give the IMF the money was purely because the Democrats hold the ear of the media and the public. They had to sign off on the evil or be blamed for the problems which are (and were then beyond all repair).
