how best to utilize, AGP-slot-,

The only thing that can go into the AGP slot is a video card.

ISA-slots-, Slow moving devices,

ISA slots are being phased out. The ISA slot is best for using your existing older ISA cards. If you are buying all new consider not buying ISA components. If you run short on slots consider ISA modems and sound cards.

Harddrives and CDROMS plug into the IDE controller. There is room for four components on the IDE controller.

AGP Slot MB's for the future?

I do not think so. AGP will remain a video slot.

IDE, EIDE, EIDE ULTRA-ATA, UDMA/33, EIDE ULTRA-DMA/33.

I can not help too much here. You are on the right track sticking with IDE drives in lieu of SCSI for your application. I use the IDE term generically as I am not up on all the variations. Maxtor has been mentioned several times as a good value drive. You also can not go wrong with an IBM drive. Storage Review is THE place to research drives storagereview.com
