David K. That's a great link! Thanks for the post. I was kind of surprised that the details of the S3TC algorithm were laid out in such detail. Not that it's any real rocket science, but it is valuable ip. I guess since the licensing for DirectX 6 with Microsoft is a done deal that the details will come out sooner, rather than later. Makes you wonder though, huh? Larry

You know, David, with an article like that, you'd think that OEM's would be knocking down the door to S3. I guess it just goes to show ya' that Barnum was right....sell the sizzle not the bacon, cuz there's sucker born every nanosecond. (I realize I mixed my quips.) Maybe we could just email that link to all the board makers that used to use S3. Actually, I think a bunch of people emailing it to Gateway , Midwest Micro, etc., would get them to put pressure on the board makers to start using the Savage. JP O&U
