Linda, RE: PIXAR stock price (my 0.02 cents)

In general I agree with the sentiment you and others have expressed. Pixar's new deal with DIS is the critical shift for Pixar's profitability.

> ...the stock should have gone up MUCH MORE than it did

I'm not certain why PIXR's stock should have gone up "MUCH MORE". No doubt that 'Toy Story' was a big hit. I personally loved the story. ABL will be another great hit for PIXR/DIS and this time PIXR gets a fair share. For the most part PIXR is an unproven company, so there is much risk in the stock even at current prices. ABL has to continue to do well. TS2 HAS to do very well if not great. There is much competition in the business, etc.

I have great confidence in Pixar and Steve Jobs. I bought stock in PIXR before the DIS deal was redone because I felt that in the long haul Pixar was going to do quite well.

All I'm really saying is that Pixar is not a sure thing with a long track record so that adds enough risk (doubt) to keep that stock price in check. Pixar is still a 'prove it to me' stock. I happen to have faith that they will eventually prove themselves as both business savy and creatively savy over the years, and they already have a great start. ABL will prove that they are not a one hit wonder. TS2 needs to continue that as well.

IMHO.

Christopher

PS I would really like to see PIXR stay in the 50+ range myself, but I don't want to see it shoot up like a rocket or Internet stock because it will eventually land HARD.

Hmmm, the weird thing is that one of the reasons I invested in Pixar was because of the new deal with Disney, but I invested in Nov 1997!

Are you sure the new deal with Disney wasn't announced before 1998? I was pretty sure that the only surprise I faced after investing was the TSII announcement, which moved the stock from the 20s to the 30s (I know, because I sold part of my stake at that point).

I think your time is off. I think the deal with Disney was made during the dark times between 10s and 20s.
