''The first wave of competitive local providers swept through Florida and selected large corporations as the beneficiaries of their services,'' said Mike Gallagher, president, Florida Digital Network. ''With this agreement, FDN will provide world-class, competitive local, long-distance, and Internet service to the rest of the businesses that are truly the backbone of the local economy. Florida's
business community will now be able to receive communications services at prices that were formerly only available to the big, national companies.''

Ken,
No. I'm afraid I have not heard a thing about them. As you may know, GTE is the DOMINANT carrier in Florida. I'm not aware of any challengers to them. Seems like this would be big news if it comes to my area. We have some fairly hefty phone bills for my small business, but I have to say, we don't even open any alternative carrier mailings sent to us. We've been slammed a few times, so we immediately trash all junk mail related to alternative phone services. Sorry I can't help you out with any information. But if I do happen to hear of any details, I'll let you know.
