WSRN has chosen IDTC as its' stock of the week

www1.wsrn.com
This week we have chosen IDT Corporation (NASDQ: IDTC), a rapidly
growing supplier of long distance telephone services, internet
connection services and the popular Net2phone internet telephone service
with over 600,000 registered customers. IDT provides long distance
services in over 170 countries.
IDT has been on a growth spurt. Revenues for the year ended July, 1998
rose 148% to $335 million. Sales in the final quarter of last year
totaled $123 million --.almost as much as the company grossed in the
entire prior year ($135 million). The company posted a loss of 21
cents/share, but before non-recurring items earnings were 56 cents, up
from a loss of 18 cents the year earlier. Revenues in the last quarter
nearly doubled from the year earlier period.

Most of IDT's business, about 60%, comes from services provided to
consumers, with the other 40% wholesale sales to businesses. Net2phone
revenues account for about 10% of last year's total.

IDT is expected to report first fiscal quarter earnings any day, and
according to First Call they are likely to be 14 cents per share, up
from 8 cents last year, a 75% increase.

Our attention focused on IDT last week when rumors began to circulate
that Sprint would acquire its unowned portion of Earthlink, also an
internet provider. While IDT has actually been diversifying from strict
internet access, it has strong relationships with long distance
providers (particularly MCI/Worldcom) that may make it attractive to
them.

But if business is so good and ISP's are consolidating, why is IDTC 49%
off its 12 month high? Is IDTC a buy, sell or hold? With WSRN's data
center, BASELINE reports and extensive links you should have what you
need to make an informed decision.
I have taken the regular quarterly post stellar earnings selloff to add to my position. It is amazing to me that the institutions and Vic Grover Kaufman still don't get it. This is a very well run diversified and innovative company growing rapidly with an history of growth that any company would be envious of.
