FROM (MS INVESTOR) JUBAK, TURNING BULLISH ON ASND. Ascend Communications (ASND). This month, Ascend is set to ship its new SS7 product, using technology that the company acquired in its August acquisition of Stratus Computer. That product is a key to signing more deals with big phone companies, whose systems are built around the SS7 gateway. A successful SS7 product would give Ascend a lead over Cisco.
