CB, It is hardly elite. It is called IPSC, for International Practical Pistol Shooting Competition. That is where you run from target to target that pops out at you and you have to reload and shoot with your weak hand and all sorts of neat things. It is a great improvement over straight target shooting. You are scored on hits and misses and the time in which you complete the course.

Now, the negatives. It really isn't practical. Nobody gets in gunfights like this. They get in gunfights hiding behind a wall and hoping the cops show up soon. -g- Also, the game is slanted in favor of the single-action semi-automatic pistol. You just can't reload fast enough to have a chance with a revolver. And a double action semi-auto, like all the quality European weapons, are at a big disadvantage due to the requirement that the safety must be on before the first shot. So, I take my single action Colt Delta Elite 10 MM, or my Detonics Scoremaster .45, and have a great time. But I can't use a Walther or a Sig-Sauer, which are great guns, and expect to have a chance.

Still, it is fun if they keep the crap off the course. -g-
