Robert, you make an interesting observation. I don't have a record beginning with the month that Tom published his list, but I did start a portfolio on Yahoo based on the October special report (using the prices listed in that October report as the purchase price for 1 share of each stock.). The total list is up about 14% from that October pricing. Tom's ten stocks are up 24.88%. Maybe using Tom's list of ten is the smart thing to do.
