Eric (or anybody who wishs to reply),

What's your opinion on the
GBit Ethernet comparison of COMS vs CSCO?

Isn't GBit Ethernet more for the "edge" and inside - Wan & Lan -
which is COMS territory more than CSCO'S?

Any thoughts?

Plus, isn't GBit Ethernet somewhat in competition
with ATM, with ATM being more flexible and richer
in capabilities, but more expensive. GBit Ethernet
with some work will eventually be up to speed to
ATM features soon enough (might be a standard's issue(?)).
When it is GBit will be a "whole lot less expensive".

Is tthe above understanding true to your knowledge?

Thanks,
joe
