I would think that the stock would jump from a base because
the CEO has made private statements regarding NOT going after
a major acquisition in the short term.

Not because Lucent is running at full capacity, and that Lucent
is selling a lot of phone equipment. I thought that was already
an implicit assumption in the price of the stock, and the only
thing holding it back was the short term spector of a costly
acquisition.
