IFMX may buy LU's datablitz (?) product. I have not heard rumors that LU will buy IFMX. Datablitz (or is it databliss?) is a main memory data manager, which I guess is similar to TimesTen and Angara. It is a database that runs entirely in memory. I have heard that LU has been trying to get rid of this product for a long time. IFMX main product advantage is performance, so adding a memory-optimized technology may help, especially now that SUNW has released its 64-bit version of the Solaris OS. (64-bit allows for access to a nearly unlimited amount of memory) I have heard however that datablitz is a rather incomplete and limited product, and it would certainly take IFMX R&D a long time to incorporate this technology into its database engines.
